I am Louise and this site came about after Jim and I had a discussion about the dogs and he suggested that we could help other dog owners by sharing our experiences.

It all started for me after I lost both my parents in 2003 and I felt there was nothing left in this world for me. I went through some tough times and I eventually decided to buy two dogs. I went searching on the web and found these very gorgeous looking Yorkshire Terriers.

After deciding that I wanted Yorkie’s I started my search and I eventually found them at a pet shop. They were so small and cuddly looking at only 6 weeks old.  It took me a few days to come up with names and eventually I decided on Rusty and Chloe.

I think I replaced my feeling of loss for my parents to having a relationship with my dogs. What that meant was treating my dogs as humans. I didn’t understand that they required having a pack leader and soon Rusty became the leader instead of me.

Since my wonderful Jim has been in my life he has showed me the value of teaching them and applying some rules and keeping to it.

We are having a few problems with them and I am hoping this site will not only assist me in learning the things I don’t know but also helping others through this process in training and loving your dogs as they should be.
