A few years back, I remember hearing the story of a mayor in Paris who actually had his policemen start writing tickets for people that were not cleaning up after their pets. Right there in the sidewalks of Paris, things were getting out of hand. The problem had become so horrible that people just could not walk down the sidewalk without trying to dodge ‘land mines’.

I have had a similar experience in my own neighborhood. I like to walk, particularly in the morning. I faced the same ‘land mine’ situation on a certain stretch of sidewalk. This raised my anger. If a someone is really not going to clean up after her pet, why can’t she at least have the pet go somewhere other than the middle of the sidewalk?

Aside from the fact that the owner was not being respectful to her fellow humans, it is disgusting to walk down the sidewalk and suddenly realize that you have to watch where you step. The disgusting part is that this is organic waste that I have to avoid from another living creature. These animals could very well have parasites or other nasty things in their stool. This makes stepping in it a health hazard!

Sure, you can scrape the bottom of your shoe off before going back inside, but in all honesty how likely are you to get it all off – right down to the smallest particles that you might not even see? Some parasite eggs could end up on your carpet. Do you have a child that likes to put things in his mouth after crawling around the floor? How many little particles, no matter how small end up in your bed?

All right, I think the point has been made. On another note about animals, both cats and dogs have another problem that is very common to their human friends. That problem is gum disease. So many animals have it and so many humans do too! Do not forget to get your pet checked for gingivitis. Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in humans and probably is in pets too!

Dog carriers are now thought-about a necessity for dog lovers. Dogs became an relatives to several and whenever the whole family goes out, the dog would continuously tag along with them since leaving him at house is like living a fan behind. This is often why a a heap of fascinating chance to strive to to is by having a means to maneuver them comfortably once they are with the family.

If you’re in explore for one, you want to apprehend that normally, there are two sorts of those carriers, one that is approved by the airlines and one that we tend to can use whereas we tend to are driving or walking around. If you’re visiting fly with your dog, then you would wish to shop for a carrier that’s non-collapsible that generally have stainless-steel wire openings to produce your dog with proper ventilation. These a pair of features are the sole difference between an everyday carrier and therefore the one that’s used to travel with an airplane.

Either means that, you want to require note of some minimum requirements {that a} carrier ought to have before obtaining one. For example, the carrier ought to supply enough area for the pet to maneuver around and be comfortable whereas he’s among it. Most of the carriers out there supply a center anchored strap that permits the dog to maneuver or flip around whereas not obtaining entangled with it. You’d know {that the} carrier is simply too tiny if the dog won’t be ready to try to to that. Simply take note {that a} excellent size of a carrier is that it will allow the dog to flip around. Something larger than that will mean the carrier is just too huge and it positively defeats the aim of having a carrier. Dogs are animals that are acutely aware with the cleanliness of their surroundings that means that that that they can not use the potty in the identical space they live or sleep. Get a carrier that’s directly proportional to the dimensions of your dog keeping in mind that’s shouldn’t be too big.
It is invariably a good idea to shop for each sorts of carriers one for air travel and one for land significantly if you are the type of one who is usually on the go. However, the determining issue on what kind and the manner many carriers you would purchase is ultimately your budget in addition to your needs. Some of the additional luxurious sorts of carriers are created out of real leather. They’ll resemble a handbag very well that you’ll be able to literally carry your dog around undetected particularly if he is of the smaller kind. This type of carriers grow a ton of and a ton of appealing to dog house owners who do not need to live their pets behind even after they merely venture out for a fast bite.

Finalize your alternative for dog carriers by specializing in the safety options of the merchandise like a security snap that you will clip onto your dog’s collar to forestall him from jumping out of the box when you open it. You would like to form positive that these safety options are in place to protect your loved one pet from harm, Read more other topics about citronella dog collar, obedience training for dogs and dog obedience school

How to stop a dog from chewing can play a huge part in training Jack Russells. Whether you are just starting to train your puppy or if you have been at it a while, you may be looking for some help. Puppy training can be frustrating when tackled by yourself. Jack Russell Terriers are cute and have a lot of energy. They are a good work dog and can be an excellent family pet as well. Even so, some JRT have problems with their behavior like chewing. If you need to know how to stop dog chewing, Jack Russell training tips may be able to help you: Jack Russell Training

Russells originated in England in the early 19th century and were initially used to hunt red foxes. Because of their training, Jack Russell Terriers generally have high stamina and are very bright. But if JRTs don’t get enough exercise or if they are under stimulated, they are prone to being moody and even destructive. Behavioral issues may need to be address with proper Jack Russell obedience training. Dog training to stop chewing can also help those people who are experiencing dog chewing issues with their Jack Russells.

How to stop a dog from chewing isn’t always as easy as taking them to a class. General obedience training for puppies may be the answer if you dog is also having other obedience issues. Basic training for puppies may not be sufficient if your Jack Russell Terrier’s dog chewing comes from reasons other than basic lack of obedience.

Puppy chewing problems may also be avoided by supplying your dog with lots of games and toys to keep them busy while you’re gone or otherwise engaged. Keeping a Jack Russell busy can be a lot of work. Physical punishment should not be part of any Jack Russell obedience training program. Physical punishment can cause your puppy to be nervous, which can cause more puppy problems. Dog chewing problems with your Jack Russell Terrier should be easy enough to remedy without having to resort to physical violence.
If giving your dog items and tasks to keep it busy still hasn’t rectified your puppy chewing problems, you can also try spraying the items he/she chews on the most with a bitter, sour, or spicy spray. Ask your veterinarian or pet supply store clerk about “no chew” sprays.

Dog vests are a great way to not only adorn your pet in high fashion dog clothes but also make them more highly visible and safer as well.As a functional and fashionable garment a dog vest is great for more active dogs or dogs that you take on walks more often. As dog sweaters and dog shirts might be better for inside dogs, in order for them not to get dirty, a dog vest would be perfect for dogs that go on a lot of walks.

I understand it’s not easy to find high quality dog vests by looking long and hard, you will eventually find some good ones.

A vest can serve as a great waistcoat or harness that attaches nicely to your dog leash or lead.It makes much more sense to get your pet a dog vest that can beeasily attached to a leash or lead.Instead of choking your dog with a leash or lead while on a walk, get him a fashionable dog vest.

During the colder months it’s always handy to have a high quality warm winter dog jacket, don’t you think your dog would agree with that?

It is easy to confuse the different types of dog apparel.Pet owners like to attire their best friend in a vest when going on a hike or long walk. All sizes and many different fabrics are availble for any breed of dog. While walking off all those calories in the evening, attire your pet in a bright orange colored safety vest.Having a dog life vest for your precious pet, is very important when around any type of water. There are dog training vests and dog services vests, which is the uniform for Seeing Eye dogs.Dog hiking or hunting vests are perfect for taking long walks and some even have dog treats or water storage.

Many internet sites have great selections of upscale pet accessories and when you find one that has what you want you feel like you won the lottery!

Before buying a dog vest, you need to know what type of activities your hound will be doing. Then you want to know the breed, size and weight of your dog.You want to make sure that your new vest will always fit your dog so take into consideration puppies that are still growing.Finding an online pet store that has a fabulous selection is a must, and even more important is great customer service!

We all know that digging is one of the things that dogs like to do best, and this is great if you have a designated area for your dog in the backyard to dig in, but you certainly are not going to want to let them just dig all over the yard and tear it all up. Now if you have a problem with your dog digging up the whole yard, then there are a few tips on how to stop a dog from digging that you are going to want to learn more about.

There are many different products on the market to stop dogs digging in yards today. Although there are strengths to the different products, they are not necessarily needed when products that are found around the house can be just as effective in stopping dogs digging. Dogs have different reasons for digging, such as wanting to hide their food, some just dig for the fun of it. You will need to find ways to give consquences whenever your dog starts to dig in order to stop him from digging, and at the same time reward him for proper behavior.

You can stop your dog from digging with a simple garden hose. You need to be in the yard with your dog to supervise him when he goes to dig and you can use the garden hose. Every time the dog starts to dig he should be sprayed with the garden hose. This will provide negative reinforcement so that digging will no longer be enjoyable for the dog, being linked to the uncomfortable spray of the hose.

Chicken wire is another simple product to stop your dog from digging and you can get it at any home improvement store. This chicken wire can be hidden just under the surface of the earth in the areas where the dog tends to dig. The dog will be stopped by the wire and will not like the feeling of his claws scraping over the wire. This will be a deterrent from digging in that area.

Toys works great when you are trying to teach your dog not to dig in the yard, it keeps them entertained. This will also keep them entertained and make them much less likely to start digging around the yard. If you get them a new toy once in awhile, there are lots out there, then they are going to have something new to have fun with.

Taking your dog for a walk can be one of the best things you can do to stop a dog from digging, as well as good excercise. Even just a walk around the block is going to entertain them and get their mind off digging. You should be walking your dog several times a week anyway.

You can always build a digging area for your dog so that he has his own place to dig, if you find these methods does not work. To make a digging area for your dog all you need is some nice soft soil filled with doggie treats and any kind of material to use as a border. Once the dog learns that the area is so delightful for digging, he will automatically want to dig there instead of the other places in the yard.

The popularity of dog training devices are actually spreading by means of pet stores and by way of the net, specifically these energy canine collars. In case you might have heard of it or study about these equipment from somewhere and are concerned about this groundbreaking coaching aids then read on.

What is an electric powered pet dog collar?

An utility dog collar is one in the a lot of puppy training schools that are popularized via the net and some pet stores with claims of producing k9 instruction less difficult for canine owners. An electric powered k9 collar comes with an energy collar for that dog and a remote manage for the dog owner/handler.

The Advantages of applying an electric powered animal collar

The manufactures of these dog training devices claims that energy collars will help dog training become less complicated for a happy and well behaved dog.

Other reasons for making use of an electric powered k9 collar may possibly include:

* Basic obedience training for commands like ‘come’

* Quit digging

* End chewing on furniture

* End jumping on guests

* Manage barking

* Training field dogs where there is always a distance between you as well as the pet dog

How do this energy k9 collar works

Let me explain; by merely pressing a button on the remote your dog’s collar can send a vibration or a tiny quantity of electric shock for your dog’s neck. The manufacturers selling these contraptions mention that these vibrations or energy shock only serves as a stimulant that your animal can associate as a signal for poor behavior and that it will not hurt your dog in any way.

This product can make any canine trainer excited because on the truth that these dog training devices can actually make canine exercising less difficult. They can truly guide you teach your canine to cease barking, digging or get rid of other unwanted bad pet dog behaviors.

But does your k9 deserve to be treated this way?

If you ever believe about it, even if the amount of electric powered shock is tiny, you can’t deny the reality that you’re still sending a volt of electricity for your dog’s neck to make him behave or end whatever he’s doing.

So let me ask you, what makes this technique diverse from hitting your dog?

These dog training devices may perhaps result in a shy or a traumatized animal.

So, how can this dog training devices make your dog happier? It may possibly aid make you, the dog owner, be happier mainly because in the ease in k9 instruction but should you believe about it it’s quite unfair for your k9.

Remember that when you decided to get a pet dog for yourself, you must have also understood that your dog won’t be ideal. He will have some flaws that you’ll need to work on together; working on those flaws together encourages and strengthens the bond that you just and your canine will be sharing.

There’s truly no beating the conventional training techniques because not only are these coaching techniques safe but they support us make a bond with our dogs that will last for a lifetime.

So, before you decide to obtain an utility k9 collar or use various kinds of dog training devices, you have to ask yourself, is this truly the way I ought to be treating a friend?

You just brought your new puppy home and it won’t stop whining. Your neighbors are starting to complain and you’re at your rope’s end. You don’t want to get rid of the new pup, but at the same time you want to stop the dog from whining. How do you go about doing this? Here a some ways you can stop your dog from whining. There is an electrical device you can use that emits a sound that only the dog can hear that is not very nice. One other means of stopping your dogs whining is to always be consistent in telling him to stop as soon as you hear him start to whine. You will need to be there all the time, or at least most of it, but after awhile your dog will stop the whining and will be quiet once more. For now we will focus on two ways to make your dog stop the whining, even tho there are many ways to make him stop whining as well as other bad behaviors.

Sound devices to stop your dog from whining does not hurt the dog in anyway and they don’t cost all that much. They just emit a sound that’s unpleasant to the dog. Imagine if you were to hear a loud piercing squeal every time you ate junk food. Pretty soon you’d probably stop eating junk food because you couldn’t bear to hear that sound ever again. Here’s the idea behind devices that will make your dog stop whining. If you’re not sure about the devices and you don’t like the idea of annoying your dog, or you’re fearful that the device will in fact hurt your dog, there are always other ways to go about making your dog stop whining than using these devices.

One way to make the dog stop whiningis to be there when he starts to whine. Tell him no or make a loud noise when he does. Hitting your dog is never OK. Never should you hit your dog, no matter what he does. There are other ways to go about making your dog stop whining, or engaging in any other behavior, rather than hitting it. Clap your hands loudly or hit a newspaper against something to make the dog stop whatever bad behavior he is doing. Because a dog has much more sensitive ears than we do, the devices I mentioned work so well, and even tho it does not bother us to have a newspaper slapped against a palm, it really bothers your dog. Do this every time the dog whines and do it often. If you are consistent your dog will soon get the idea and stop his whining, so that you and the rest of the neighbors will get the peace and quiet you so need

There are two methods that you can use to house train your puppy – indoor training or outdoor training. Which one should you use? Which house training method works best for you and your puppy? Well, it pretty much depends on your lifestyle and the type of your dog.

Outdoor puppy house training can be a good choice, if you happen to work from home and have easy access to outdoor areas. You have the flexibility to put work aside and take your puppy out for his bathroom break.

However, taking your puppy for a stroll and potty break outdoor can be troublesome if you’re staying in a high-rise apartment block. Indoor house training may be more suitable for you if you have difficulty leaving the house or move around freely due to your health condition.

If your dog is from a small-sized breed, then indoor potties suit him better. In this case, indoor potty training is right for him. Indoor house training may have some disadvantages for bigger dogs, one of it being that their waste is bigger in size! If your dog is a male, eventually he will start lifting his leg when he pees. He is unlikely to aim accurately at his potty, whether it’s a litter box or layers of newspapers. What you’ll get is a smelly puddle on the floor.

While it’s possible to retrain a outdoor house trained puppy to potty indoor, and the other way round, you shouldn’t let your puppy have two bathrooms. You’ll have to decide one and only potty place for your puppy.

For instance, if your final objective is to have your puppy eliminate outside the house, then you should focus on outdoor house training from the start. You can spread some newspapers on the floor of your living area; in case you’re not at home to take your puppy out to do his business, at least your floors are protected from his poop and pee. The last thing you want is to see your puppy mess up his bathroom manners.

It’s so important to have a dog that’s well behaved. For anyone who has just bought their first puppy or even if they adopted an older dog, there are certain dog obedience tips they must enforce. It’s not about being mean or cruel to a dog, it’s about teaching them how to act appropriately so they are house-trained and act proper in public places. In fact, if you just want to teach your dog the basics there are a few dog obedience tips that are going to be enough for you.

Good socialization is one of the best dog obedience tips.

One of the most important aspects of dog obedience training is to socialize the dog properly. One of the dog obedience tips is to help socialize the dog properly, which can be done best by getting them around large groups of people and animals to show them that they need to be friendly and well behaved in situations like this. No dog should be kept in home all the time, and rather they need to be outside and get taken for walks to socialize with other people and dogs. To socialize your dog properly, make sure that you bring them out to the largest variety of social events as possible.

Other dog obedience tips for socialization are to expose the dog to a variety of situations to properly socialize them. But socialization activities for the dog should be fun and pressure free, so take them for a jog in the park or to a carnival to walk around and see all the happy faces.

Positive dog obedience tips

The most important thing is to make sure that you have some sort of positive reinforcement you are going to be able to use here. Remember, it can be a bit of a challenge especially with the older dogs but using dog obedience tips will be more than worth it in the end. You don’t want to own a dog that you are constantly going to have to be yelling at and disciplining. Training your dog with dog obedience tips will give you a well-socialized and house-trained dog that will be enjoyable and pleasant to be around.

The author of this article, Eddie Gillespie just loves his dogs, that’s why he started Dog Info Point to let other people know about the fun you can have with dogs.

Hi, my name is Cassy, and this is my sister, Jewel. We are both dogs! Yes, you did read that last sentence correctly. You see, our human master named Barry decided to write an article about doggie treats. Now with all due respect to Barry, what ever does a human know about the greatest goodies for a dog? That would be like a dog writing about the finest goodies for a goldfish!

So Jewel and I decided that while Barry was outside in the yard, most likely cleaning up our “cigar deposits” prior to mowing the lawn, (he! he!), we would compose an article on doggie treats from the canine point of view. There is no time to squander, as our human would completely freak if he realized that I was using his computer and getting paw prints all over the keyboard!

All doggie treats are not created equal! Looking at the notes on this topic lying here beside the computer, I see that our human has done some researching into the sorts of substances that you must pass up adding to your home-made doggie snacks, or for that matter, the kinds of components to steer clear of when purchasing commercially made treats and dog food for your dog as well.

8 “No-No” Ingredients for Doggie Goodies

1. Chocolate- is lethal to dogs as it acts as a stimulant and speeds up the heart. Did you realize that we can actually get “chocolate poisoning” from too much chocolate due to a chemical called Theo-bromine that is found in chocolate! Well there goes my Easter snacks!

2. Onions- in any form are poisonous to us! We can get a medical situation known as Heinz Body Anemia, which is a fancy way of stating that onions can damage our red blood cells! Yipes! No more liver and onion sandwiches for me!

3. Grapes- as a result of their high sugar content, foods high in sugar such as grapes or raisins give us digestion problems and make us sick enough to throw up. Yuck!

4. Mushrooms- not a great idea as depending on the kind of mushroom, these may cause us all sorts of problems internally and even death if the mushroom is of the deadly variety.

5. Nuts- should be avoided as they may bring about dangerous digestive troubles which means a irritated stomach for me! Peanut butter is an omission to this “no nut rule” as it is processed and less difficult to digest than raw nuts.

6. Salt- only in tiny amounts as this can cause electrolyte imbalances in our body.

7. Sugar- keep away from creating or buying goodies high in sugar content, both natural or refined sugar, as our bodies are not made to handle large amounts of sugar intake from our foods.

8. Cheese- the research appears to be divided on this one. Some of us can cope with cheese fine and others cannot! Most of us love cheese in our treats, but to prevent probable tummy problems and diarrhea later, only use small amounts in your goodies. As cheese is a dairy product, this word of warning applies to other dairy products as well such as milk, powder milk, cottage cheese, and yogurt.

My human must be almost done the lawn, so time to carry on and discuss what kinds of food are safe to add to your home-made doggie treats or harmless to have in commercial doggie goodies.

5 “Yes-Yes” Ingredients for Doggie Goodies

1. Vegetables- with the exception of onions, grapes, and some say garlic, are all all right to add to treats. I know that Jewel and I fancy carrots and peas in our snacks.

2. Fruits- stay away from the high sugar fruits such as grapes and raisins, otherwise fruits such as apples and oranges make good treat ingredients.

3. Meat- we all love meat in our goodies! Raw or cooked meat is excellent! No bones, especially chicken bones which often break up and can seriously hurt us.

4. Eggs- very nourishing as an ingredient, and did you know that even the egg shell ground ground up is fine too as a source of calcium.

5. Rice- personally, Jewel and I go for rice, but some “human experts” are in opposition to rice, so this is one of those ingredients that is smart to only use in small amounts until you are sure that your dog has no bad side effects from ingesting rice in their goodies.

In conclusion, it is of little good to be careful about the kinds of doggie treats you give your dog, if you are not also careful to see what ingredients are in the dog foods you are feeding us. Our existence is depending on you!
