Eye Ulcer – What is the Cause?

I had to go on a short trip to visit family and then my dogs always stay at the kennel. Before I left I had to take Chloe to the vet as she had a ulcer in her eye. The vet gave her drops and pain killers and I will take her for another checkup when I get back.
