Finally week 2 is over and things are going very very well. No more incidents in the house and we go on regular walks.  The walking is still a bit of a struggle and we continue trying to get them to be a bit calmer. It does seem that they are starting to enjoy other people around, as they didn’t often see other people in Johannesburg, as I use to go out to see people. We have had Sam and Simon over and the dogs where spoilt rotten. Sam brought them some toys to play with and they also got dental sticks. The dogs loved all the attention!  Every day they seem to settle in a bit more. Rusty does sometimes bark in the kitchen and I don’t always know how to handle it. Should I tell him to get into his bed or try ignoring him? I usually go downstairs and tell him to get into his bed. This seems to work and he doesn’t bark again after that which is great. Right or wrong, I am not sure but it seems to work for us.

I really would love them to be more relaxed on their walks but I think that is going to take some time and a lot of patients. We are doing about 45 min walks at the moment as I need the exercise and since they have so much energy it is just enough to get them to calm down.

I really enjoying having them back and they have made such a difference in our life.
